Abstract:
High Performance Computing (HPC) is one of the transformational tools needed to drive innovation, productivity and competitiveness. The combination of application software and HPC systems provides engineers with ongoing advancements in a variety of simulation areas.
The Top20Auto study of the HPC market in Automotive reveals that HPC installed base grows a factor 10x each 4 years. Further key findings will be presented aiming at identifying trends in the HPC for Automotive in terms of processor, interconnect and system architectures, operating systems, as well as CAE segments and applications.
While HPC is gaining wide acceptance and CAE is now used for decision making in the conceptual design phase, we believe that simulation technology is used at only 30% of it's potential. HPC will soon come to depend on sustaining automotive design usage and newer applications by this segment of the industrial sector globally. Discussions will range on all aspects of HPC in this field.
