User Experiences with the Silicon Graphics Prism™

Abstract:

Users of Silicon Graphics Prism™ systems discuss early experiences and accomplishments using the innovative Linux-based visualization environment. Panel members discuss the challenges and benefits of large memory, scalable visualization projects in areas like medical imaging, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas exploration, environmental simulations and meeting the needs of unique design and interactive visualization projects. Discussions will also include experiences with collaborative environments, remote visualizations, large model visualization performance and third party software experiences with Silicon Graphics Prism™ systems.

The BOF is organized by the Silicon Graphics Worldwide User Group and is hosted by Gwen Pech, Faculty, BP Center for Visualization at the University of Colorado, and SGIUG Director of Visualization/Chair of the Visualization Special Interest Group and Gary Jensen of SGIUG.
