Applications that work and really make a difference are the forte of Masterworks sessions. Presentations will highlight novel and innovative ways of applying advanced computing, communications and storage technologies to solve challenging, real-world problems. The focus for SC|05 will be on applications with global or international implications. As always, Masterworks will bring internationally recognized speakers to SC who will showcase applications that have significant impact on the general public. New to Masterworks this year is a session on the role of HPC in gaming. Also new this year are Masterworks sessions paralleling the SC|05 special initiatives: StorCloud and HPC Analytics. Sessions that address important life-changing technologies include Quantum Computing, Biotechnology, Aerospace and Space, and Automotive Design. Finally, the ever-popular session on HPC in the entertainment industry returns to Masterworks this year.
